"Kabinart Cabinets"
Kabinart's local Cranford nj dealer consists of a temporary contractors sign and about six cabinet door panels inside a store front. Two brothers represent themselves as "local workers who work with their father." Absolutely inaccurate fiction. The reality is as follows. They use all sub contractors who were left unsupervised. As a homeowner I found myself taking on the role of work site supervisor. Pointing out mistakes, providing tools and materials to make the job move forward. This became routine. The kitchen renovation started in early March and I was promised a completion date of on or about March 25, 2013. It is now June 3, 2013 and still not completed. Waiting for cabinet doors & molding from Kabinart. Told they are stock cabinets only made when an order is placed. Still waiting. The spice drawer cabinet makes a clunking sound when pulled out and does not fully extend as promised. The plastic shelf holders are almost impossible to remove without destroying them, making shelf adjustment very difficult. I would like to have these problems addressed. Kabinart needs a reputable dealer in New Jersey. Ultimately the cabinets look great but dealing with this company is a logistical nightmare. The dealer bragged to the local building inspector with me within earshot that he marks the cabinet prices up over 100%, stocks nothing and a nice profit is made before he even starts the job. Even this would not have bothered me if the dealer did his job and completed on time. I would not recommend Kabinart or using Kabinarts local Cranford, NJ Dealer/Contractor.

Overall a good cabinet, but the self-closing hinges(plastic insert design) began failing after 2 years. Kabinet Art set a box of cheap magnets for us to self-install - Unacceptable and very disappointed.

"Kabinart problems"
We built a new home in 2005 and the builder used Kabinart Cherry Cabinets. We get a gray file on them all the time. Kabinart admits it is their problem and they send someone out from South Carolina to wipe them down, but it just comes back. They should replace all the cabinets. The hinges have a plastic insert that breaks with no replacement. The cabinet doors won't stay closed.

"Kitchen cabinets"
We re-modeled our kitchen in 2001 using Kabinart cabinets--solid maple, they are beautiful, impressive looking, excellent quality; we could not have afforded the maple if it wasn't for this company. They have a wonderful classic look the will last for years to come. I would highly recommend to consider this company before you go to the big box stores & see what you get for more money.

"Custom kitchen details without the custom price tag."
In mid 2009 we decided to replace the 1950's era cabinets in our kitchen. We looked at new cabinet options with the criteria of reasonable cost, quality of construction and available finishes. We decided on Kabinart semi-custom maple cabinets with a painted, off white finish. Kabinart provided the quality we were looking for with details such as all wood construction, dovetailed drawers and high quality hinges. They also offered the options we wanted including slide out shelves, a customizable pantry unit and a choice of decorative range hoods. With help from a reliable, local building supply company our very functional custom layout was designed, ordered and delivered in only 4 weeks. Our contractor had no difficulties with the cabinet installation. It's been just over a year since the renovation and we still love our new kitchen. Even the painted finish has stood up amazingly well. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from Kabinart again, although with the quality of these cabinets I doubt that I'll be revamping my kitchen again for quite a few years.
