"Poor quality - seconds"
This is the review I tried to post on the KraftMade website. "Do not ever consider purchasing KraftMaid cabinetry. Quality is terrible. Only positive reviews listed on company website. Be sure to check other reviews online. As one person stated - so many problems to list. We had pieces (and replacements) that had extra stain dripped on them, stain didn't match, pieces pulling apart, some pieces did not have any finish on the wood. Last count was fifteen replacement pieces until we finally gave up - five months after original order was placed. I did respond to a customer service email asking how we liked our cabinets but as I expected I have heard nothing back."

"Very poor construction."
I normally don't write reviews but this case is very severe. I don't want anyone else to experience this nightmare. Please, please, please do not buy Kraft maid cabinets. The construction is horrible. Some of the doors had damages, cracks and imperfections. When they were reordered, it took 2 months to get them back and some were still damaged, cracked and poorly constructed.

"Awful"
Waiting on my 4th shipment of replacement parts. They continue to send damaged unfinished cracked doors and drawer fronts. This is after having 6 of 9 cabinets replaced. This isn't shipping damage, they are boxing and shipping these flawed pieces.

"What happened to Kraftmaid?"
I installed kraftmaid cabinets in my kitchen and 2.5 bathrooms about 10 years ago. They were beautiful and the few doors that didn't look good were immediately replaced, no questions asked. So naturally when I moved to another house I went back to Kraftmaid. The list of what was wrong is too long to write so you'll just have to trust me when I say... long. The worst part is the poor quality of the doors. Of course the sample I bought was perfect. The actual doors? Bad seams, holes. Customer service that used to be excellent told me that the seams expand due to changes in temperature between the warehouse and my house, it's normal and we're not going to replace those 3 doors. NO! The doors were poorly made, that's why the seams look bad! I do not recommend your product and your company any longer.

"Don't Settle. You pay custom pricing and deserve it."
I purchased a $15,000 order all in from Home Depot. The cost was the same as a custom cabinet maker known for high quality... the difference was that it would have taken me two additional months to get them and didn't want to ruin my summer. As promised from Kraftsmaid, the cabinets came in within 4 weeks, very impressive (my order got in before the big spring rush). No problem with delivery. However, one cabinet came without drawer cover installed, and couple other doors were delivered separately. I didn't settle and required that Kraftsmaid come and do the finishing, which they did. It wasn't my job or my carpenters to do additional fabrication. Other issue was that two of my French door cabinet had one door off a 1/8-1/4 inch so they didn't align. Also, my designer didn't quite get the crown molding right and we would have had a gap between top and ceiling so needed L pieces. I received these pieces within two weeks, and fortunately they weren't needed to complete installation. On the cabinet and drawer fronts sent separately, I was informed that Kraftsmaid prefers to send pieces separately in additional shipment instead of holding up the whole order. Kind of strange as you get a nice picture of your construction team....why can't they just make the piece? I don't know. But our Wisconsin Kraftsmaid rep has been very responsive and helpful. I did get the original discount on these additional pieces needed and I was also able to return three pieces of molding I didn't use...this might be a Home Depot policy. My kitchen is beautiful. I will ask for the following if Kraftsmaid reads this: knife compartment addon... I can't really get in my chopping knives... they kindof sit funny in the slots..seems like it is made just for a lot of steak knives the same size. Also, the people answering the 1-800 need better attitude...kindof try to blow you off at first...at least 1 of 2 for the times I called in. but I didn't care what they said to me...I knew what I wanted and all I would settle for. Also wish they would give better instructions on how to use all the screws they send for installation as all carpenters do it differently. Even online guide doesn't help. And, one more...the farmers sink base cabinet needed some cutting... it would be nice for them to make a cabinet that exactly fits certain sink models, so you don't need to hack into the side to get it right which is scarey... So my view is this....do not settle for anything less than perfection from Kraftsmaid... they are marketing it that way and you pay for it. I have been made aware that they are spending money on quality programs, so all the comments on this site likely are helping. I feel the cabinet quality and paint is very good...we did pay up for the better construction like plywood etc.

"Poor quality, poor workmanship."
We received our shipment of Kraftmaid cabinets that we ordered through Home Depot about a month ago. We were not ready to open them and inspect them right away. If we had done so when they were delivered, we would have refused to accept them. As we open the boxes now that we are ready to install them, almost every single cabinet is chipped. Corners are crushed. The finish is terrible on some of them. Glue and nails are visible. We are so disappointed to put it mildly. In the past we always ordered American Woodmark cabinets from Home Depot, and we never had a problem with them. But we always wanted to get a higher quality cabinet and we had always heard that Kraftmaid was real good. So we paid the extra cost and man, are we sorry. Terrible quality. They should be ashamed. And by the sound of all these other reviews we are begining to see that we will likely just get the run around from Kraftmaid. I guess we are going to be using a lot of wood putty and paint. Its tempting to call them and try to get things fixed, but it will take too long I'm sure and we can't be without the kitchen much longer. I wonder if Kraftmaid counts on this, knowing that most people will give up and just live with their cabinets... anyway, never again!

"You're crazy if you purchase Kraftmaid cabinets"
Remodeled my kitchen with white Kraftmaid cabinets. Within 6 months there was noticeable yellow discoloration. I called Lowes and my Lowes sales person came to my home with the Kraftmaid rep. The rep advised this was a known issue but they're not telling anybody... not even the stores selling the their product. He said they would replace the doors and pay the installation with a store credit. When the new doors came in the sales rep would not return the stores emails to arrange the reimbursement to reinstall the new doors. A year and a half later the doors are still sitting in the store and I still have discolored cabinets. Finally got a store manager involved. It took 3 weeks for Kraftmaid to get back to him saying they would only cover $100 of the $800 fee the reinstall the replacement doors. If you purchase Kraftmaid cabinets after reading this you have to be insane!

"Order screw up"
When we placed the original order for cabinets; Lowes gave us a KraftMaid discount for ordering a minimum of ten pieces. But, when the order arrived; three pieces were totally incorrect. We returned the three incorrect pieces to Lowes; and they re-ordered the replacement pieces. But, guess what? Now, we didn't get the same original discount; because we didn't meet the ten-piece order minimum! I am now of the opinion that the shipment was purposely screwed up, in order to nullify the original discount.

"Do not purchase Kraftmaid Cabinets."
As a former Kitchen designer, Kraftmaid cabinetry was my dream kitchen. But as a consumer I am overwhelmed with regret. The cabinet’s poor construction has shocked me. One of our base cabinets has started to come apart, showing a gap between the wall and the frame. The construction of the box is visible, clearly indicating it is the construction of the cabinet. The finish is our biggest issue. The finish has chipped off throughout our kitchen. It has chipped off of the doors, on the trim and the molding. Please note we paid extra for this specific finish by a total of $2,096.06. We are so disappointed in the quality that we would never be able to recommend Kraftmaid cabinets to anyone.

"Sent a cabinet with drawer faces of a completely different finish"
They agreed to send replacement faces. I received 10 boxes of the wrong faces again. Then said they had to do a different style door to get me the finish I needed. I agreed. Then said the finish was discontinued. All this took 6 months. My remodel has started and now I am returning the cabinet. Such a waste of time. I am amazed this company is still in business, but I am betting not for long.

"Worst cabinets ever!"
These cabinets are horrible! Antiqued white paint started chipping within a few months. The customer service sent out a person who touched up which chipped again immediately. They refused to help any further. Ridiculous. We are embarrassed about our cabinets.

"Wish I had read the reviews first"
I wish I had read these reviews before ordering my cabinets from Lowes. My kitchen was supposed to be completed the first of Dec. --- it is March 16th and the end is nowhere in sight. 40 pieces were either missing or damaged in the first delivery. My oven cabinet was delivered in unacceptable condition not once but three times. The quality of these cabinets is subpar at best and each reorder adds another 6 weeks to our project. Tiffany came out and said the cracks in the doors would not be seen once the hinges were installed!! We haven't heard from her or any representative since. Their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. I will never use Kraftmaid again in future remodels nor will I ever recommend them to anyone.

"I Do Not Recommend Kraftmaid Cabinets"
Spent close to $10k for white Kraftmaid kitchen cabinets. Within 6 months the doors around the seams were turning yellow. I contacted Lowes where I purchased them. The Lowes sales rep came out to my home with the Kraftmaid sales rep. The Kraftmaid sales rep said they were aware of the problem which was related to a glue issue one of their manufacturers had. He stated there were not disclosing it and were only addressing it if people contacted them. Every single cabinet door had to be replaced. I was quite upset at the issue and the additional cost. The Kraftmaid sales rep said they would reimburse me the cost of labor to replace the doors (they would issue the store a credit and the store would then credit me since I paid Lowes). Once the doors came in I wanted to make sure the credit was labor credit was going to be issued before I picked up the doors. I checked in on and off for a year and a half with the Lowes rep. The Lowes rep advised me the Kraftmaid rep would not get back to him on it. I finally got a Lowes store manager involved. He contacted Kraftmaid and they said they would only reimburse $100. The cost to remove the existing doors, replace the hardware and new doors is $800. Kraftmaid also said they would not release the doors until they inspected my cabinets... which they have already done once. So now I'm sitting here with a new kitchen and white cabinets with yellow discoloration. No attempt to reinspect the doors had been made and Kraftmaid refuses to uphold the deal their sales rep made.

"Kitchen Cabinets beware"
Our Kraftmaid cabinets pulled away from the walls after 7 years (our previous kitchen cabinets lasted 18 years). We had two installers look at the cabinets and both were in agreement that the problem was with the poorly designed cabinets, not the installer. I reached out to Kraftmaid and was asked to send photos, which I did. In the meantime (as I advised the rep I would), I hired an installer to repair and reinstall the cabinets that were pulling so they would not fall off the wall and hurt someone. I received a call back from Kraftmaid a couple of weeks later and was told - we advise not to repair, we simply replace. So, unless you are willing to hire an installer possibly 2 or more times to reinstall cabinets in your kitchen at your cost, I would look at other cabinet manufacturers. A google search will show that I am not alone in my experience.

"Kraftmaid sucks"
If you are thinking about buying Kraftmaid cabinets, don't. I am in kitchen remodel hell waiting on a 4th fridge panel because they keep shipping poor quality ones to me. My remodel is at a standstill because of their poorly crafted cabinets and doors. They also don't package them will in shipping. Beware if you do us them, you may be waiting months to get your cabinets. I am on week 10 with no running water in my kitchen... Oh, and if you call customer service, they tell you they don't do quality control until after the 3rd one is bad.

"White painted cabinets"
I actually feel that the cabinets themselves are well built, however, it's the finish work that is sub-par. When we opened the boxes, we found 4 doors with workmanship defects and requested replacements. We were told replacements would be sent to us in 1 to 2 weeks. One month later, we received the replacements and the workmanship defects were even worse than the originals. We then examined all 22 cabinets more closely and found eight more doors with various workmanship defects. The biggest problem is missing paint, followed by paint over dirt and rough areas where the wood was rough and painted over. Also some damage from the manufacturing facility. The packaging was excellent, so it is doubtful any damage came from there. In total we are waiting for 12 replacements. It has been over two weeks. We were just told that Kraftmaid will not replace that many without a visit from their rep. We waited 31 days for the rep to find time in HIS busy schedule to come out. My wife and I both missed work for his visit and he did not show up. Clearly Kraftmaid does not stand behind their product. Their success has effected their quality in a big way. Too bad because They used to be great but people will eventually learn and stop buying Kraftmaid.

"Worst Experiance Ever!"
Work began on our very basic kitchen remodel December 4, 2017 which we ordered and scheduled through Lowes in Boynton Beach Fl. Store number 1111. Its March 6th and we are still waiting for our kitchen to be completed. Every single piece of cabinetry delivered from KraftMaid shows up damaged! We are now on re-order number four. This is beyond ridiculous. How does this company operate this poorly? Four months and we are still waiting for the manufacturer to stop screwing up their own product? How are you this bad at what you do? We completely regret choosing KraftMaid for our kitchen. We've met the sales rep for KM; Sally and she was unbelievably rude. Knew we were KM customers w/a serious quality problem and she kept her back to us . Wouldn't turn around, couldn't be bother to apologize for the horrible service, inconvenience etc... Clearly this company doesn't give the smallest damn about the customer. We are telling everyone we know, met to never ever buy KM.

"Waiting four extra weeks for one essential piece"
Cabinets are very nice. But I have been waiting 3 weeks for the refrigerator panel which was not delivered with all other pieces. Kraftmaid refused to expedite getting the panel to me and made me wait and wait and wait. This has stalled the entire process in my remodel. The countertop cannot be templated until the panel is installed. Now they have cancelled my delivery due to an impending storm and I will be waiting four weeks. An additional 4 weeks of no kitchen due to Kraftmaid. Don't buy from them. Find someone with customer service!
