"The customer is always wrong even when they are right"
Don't buy Ultracraft cabinets neither the distributor Canyon Kitchen and Bath in Cathedral City or the company that owns Ultracraft Norcraft owned by Fortune Brands will stand behind the product. The sample door I was shown has magically reappeared as the cabinets they shipped to me. The real door has disappeared and Canyon Kitchen and Bath will not show a picture of the original door that was taken when I placed the order. The installer says the finish is wrong. I have been offered $1000 to finish the raw wood. That voids any warranty I might of had but as you can tell there is no warranty. They have paperwork now saying I got what I ordered when my contractor and the installer know it is wrong. They do not care about the customer as long as they get their money. I am waiting for the paperwork from the Norcraft lawyer that is going to show how right they are. It should be interesting. They need to remember that people search the internet before they purchase. I have expressed my opinion May 6, 2016

"Beautiful, Unique, Sturdy"
We just installed beautiful UltraCraft cabinets. We chose an Arctic White finish with Brown Linen glaze on the Daytona door style. I love the linen finish. It is very unique and was the main reason I went with this company. Not all cabinet companies offer this type of finish, and those that do cost a great deal more. The linen finish gives a big impact at a great value, and is my favorite part of my new kitchen. Since it is hand applied, I wasn't sure how consistent it would be. It turned out better than I anticipated, and is very consistent throughout our rather large kitchen. The cabinets seem very sturdy and the hardware quite durable. We love the full extension drawers and roll out shelves in base cabinets. Love how easily the doors can be removed when installing and working on the cabinets, and lack of the center frame piece makes working under the sink much easier. The frameless construction gives a very high-end feel as well. Another big plus with UltraCraft was how easily they could customize their cabinets to what we needed. We wanted to have 3 sides of workspace at one end of our island and then 3 sides of seating at the other. It was easily accomplished and looks beautiful. Other companies couldn't compare with this feature as well. Can't wait to get the countertops in and enjoy the finished look!

"Canyon Kitchen and Bath"
I was shown several different samples of door finishes. After several tries I picked one out and placed an order for $42,000 worth of cabinets. Had a problem with the Mortgage company holding the insurance money (they like to do that so they can use your money for free) so when the owner of Canyon Kitchen and Bath started the sob story about needing the money I took my own money and paid off the cabinets. I normally wouldn't do that until I saw it but my Mother was dying so you don't always have the energy to expend. After all they were such nice people I now know it was because she was aware the wrong cabinets were in her storage facility. I stopped the cabinets from being installed because of the error. The area rep from Ultra craft couldn't be bothered to come to my home even though he was in the area that day. When he came out he agreed the color was wrong and took the door to send it back to Ultracraft then came back and said it was within tolerance. What does that mean since it was no where near the color I ordered? The installer the contractor and I and the rep all agreed that it wasn't right. Deb one of the owners of Canyon Kitchen and Bath in Cathedral City took a picture of the door which she will not show us. They now have the Norcraft(owns ultracraft) attorney (name Gary Van Dallen) calling me and saying that they won't fix the problem and if I use a different company to fix it the warranty is void. I think there never was a warranty or they would stand behind their customer. I was going to have a stand out beautiful kitchen since I paid for a custom Island and chose a beautiful contrasting door. Now it is ordinary. Class action lawsuit anyone? Doesn't cost you but it does cost them and it goes into the sec reports since the whole company is owned by a group of investors. Stock price gets hit. I paid for semicustom cabinets and got all stock with lots of fillers. I used this company because my contractor said he had never had a problem with them but I guess things and people who helped in the past are gone and they only hire less than honest people so they can blame the customer. How convenient My opinion of course. Do what you will with my information. I have been without a kitchen for over a year but I have another house I can go to when it really gets hot in the Desert. I would never deal with Ultracraft, Norcraft, Master brand or Fortune brands or Canyon Kitchen and Bath for the rest of my life. They made their Bed and I hope the fleas bite them nightly.

"Great Product"
We purchased a condo and had to redo the entire kitchen. After several trips to Home Depot, Lowes and other dyi stores we decided to order cabinets from Ultracraft. I was worried about the color, and the overall design as all of this was done on a laptop but was pleasantly surprised when we received our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. First of all - the quality of the cabinets felt like no other cabinets we ever owned - they felt like real wood. In addition we ordered cabinets that have soft close function - great upgrade and we love the new kitchen. During the install we realized we were missing a couple of hinges and we called Ultracraft - they overnighted missing / misplaced parts at no additional charge. Overall great company, great service!

"Simply The Best"
What do I love about these cabinets? Bullet proof construction: all 5/8" MDF or Plywood at your option. Beautiful finishes in paint or stain. They never arrive with shipping damage because of care with which they are packaged. They are so perfect that they carry a one hundred year warranty from the Ultracraft Company.

"4 years later & still loving it!"
We worked with a designer to order a custom media cabinet on a Euro metal leg in the Adriatic Mink (thermofoil finish) and 4 years later it still looks like brand new! With two small kids and two big dogs this cabinet gets a lot of use daily and doesn't show fingerprints. It's been a great storage solution for our family room and we love our UltraCraft cabinets! Would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality made in the USA product.

"Is this crazy?"
I am in the midst of a gut renovation of a 1 bedroom condo just outside of nyy. The contractor just installed the Ultracraft Slab cabinets, and I am very dis-satisfied with the quality. I am strongly considering having him replace them with something else before we get too far into the job - countertops, under counter lights etc. Is this crazy? From the reviews I'm reading it seems there are many concerns about the quality of Ultracraft. My last cabinets were by Decora, and were beautiful.

"Disappointed"
I purchased these cabinets in 2006. They look great but lately I've had issues. A couple of the doors are sagging and the flip up cabinets side pistons have failed and they now slam shut. It's a hazard for my kids. The store I purchased them at no longer sell this line. I called Ultracraft and told me to call Robyn Lacreta the NH and MA sales rep. I spoke to her once and she said she would replace the parts, that was 2 months ago and now she just screens my call. Ultracraft headquarters is of no use they tell me to call Robyn. The 100 year warranty is of no use, they don't honor it.

"Edgebanding coming unglued"
I installed ultracraft cabinets in 2007. Within 2 years all the edgebanding was coming unglued. Ultracraft sent a rep out. I was told that it could be happening because I live on the water. They replaced the bad doors. Within 2 years the same thing happened. I cannot get a rep to even call me, let alone come out to the house. I spent $17,000 on the cabinets am I am just disgusted by the quality and the service of the the company.

"Poor craftmanship"
We have natural cherry cabinets, which were installed 17 years ago. Within 5 years the finish began to wear off and it took several attempts to get Ultracraft to address these issues; ultimately the company did not and the vendor who sold us the cabinets came to our home and agreed that the finish was substandard; he replaced several door and drawer fronts. We are a family of three, so the kitchen is not overused. We are very, very unhappy with these cabinets. They look nice but have not worn well at all. Friends who renovated their kitchen around the same time we did have cabinets that have worn much better. Think twice before getting Ultracraft cabinets; the company was unpleasant to deal with and the cabinets have not worn well at all. Within 7 years of installing them, the signs of wear were pronounced; and cleaning them does not seem to help at all. The wood is very soft and nicks easily. The finish is terrible. Now we are faced with figuring out how to refinish or clean these cabinets. Had we known the poor quality, we would never have purchased anything from Ultracraft.

"My kitchen looks great!"
I have to say, that I am amazed with all these reviews. Seems like some people were dealing with a company that wasn't honest about Ultracrafts time-frame. My kitchen took 6-7 weeks to arrive! I have a beautiful Adriatic Door Style in Wenge & some stainless steel doors. My kitchen came out Beautiful! I had two issues with two cabinets bc my walls were not plumb but, they took care of it immediately & I had my replacements in 2 weeks. Which was fine bc my kitchen was still in progress. My designer was amazing with her work, she explained everything and all the details were precise! I am still shocked to read some of the reviews that are on here. I would absolutely recommend Ultracraft to my friends and family.

"Disappointed"
I wish we had read more reviews on the Ultra Craft cabinets. We had problems with a door not being painted correctly, a drawer front that is cracked in 2 places (both are either replaced or being replaced). But my complaint is with the chipping on our off-white painted cabinets. The representative that came today said it is our fault that the cabinets are chipping. These were installed 10 months ago. There is a chip on the top of a cabinet door that sits under the countertop. It is on the side of the hinge. How did we chip that? And we keep our plastic storage containers in that cabinet. And when I spoke to the representative I was told they will do whatever they can to make it right for both us and them. Well, we are getting a kit to touch up the 16 chipped doors ourselves and was told that eventually the paint will wear off by the knobs/pulls as the years go by. I can't wait for that to happen! I was also told there are people who make a living repairing the paint chips on cabinets. 100 year warranty... what a joke. The idea is good but don't expect to get anything but a touch up kit. I am disappointed in this company's customer service... and I would not recommend these cabinets to anyone looking for new cabinetry.

"UltraCraft Cabinetry"
I had my kitchen re-done in 2007. It is 8 years since and my cabinets are doing well. When I had my kitchen re-done I didn't plan to stay in my home that long. So I have to be honest, I did not get top of the line cabinets. But here I am still in my home and the cabinets are doing well. I did have an issue about a year and a half ago which was addressed immediately by UltraCraft. I'm sorry for those of you who had a bad experience. I have to say I am not an installer just a simple women who loves her kitchen. But maybe the problems are installer related in most cases. The cabinets do have a 100 year warranty and they do stand behind that.

"Very good cabinets. Would absolutely buy again! Beautiful and massive flexibility for sizing"
Sorry but there are way too many bad reviews for most of the cabinet lines here. That translates into - there are way too many bad installations - not bad cabinets. The Installer you hire is really critical for finish work. Lots of guys talk the talk, but very few carpenters are true finish carpenters, with years of expertise, experience, a fanatical attention to detail, and unceasing eye for a quality result. Our installer was an expert finish carpenter. He made CONSTANT use of THREE LEVELS - to ensure that the installation was very clean. It took him two whole days working alone, and he certainly earned his $1000 fee. Really good finish work is a premium. If you don't get good people (and they cost a lot) your results will suffer. Don't blame the cabinets! I installed the handles myself, as well as both the pull-out garbage and recycle bins. It took a lot of time re-measuring again and again. Every hole pre-drilled with a tiny bit then drilled with the final bit. The end results were great. We build a brand new kitchen from scratch, where one had never existed, along w/ a full gut of that level and build-out of a new bathroom, kitchen and dining room. Our kitchen designer in Cherry Hill recommended this line, as it was reasonable for the style with a really great level of customized flexibility for sizing - all included in the price. We could vary every box to 1/8" at no extra charge. This was very important, as we have a big 10.5' island, with lots of drawers, pull-outs, etc. So, we could readily save room in cabinets with sinks and pull-out garbages, etc - and use those inches to make a set of drawers much larger. I'm not saying the cabinets are inexpensive - they are not. But for $10,500 we got cabinets customized to the exact sizes that we needed and a Great look. Finish work needs a very high degree of expertise, talent and attention to detail. Unfortunately, a lot of contractors don't have this and shouldn't do finish work. There is very little room for error, and way too many guys out there doing kitchens and bathrooms who have no business doing them. Bear also in mind that LIGHTING is critical in kitchens. You can have a $25K kitchen look better than a $50K kitchen - if you light it correctly.

"No structure box cabinets. Not custom."
First off I've been building real custom cabinets since the 80s. These are far from custom in any way. They are all particle board 5/8 crap which wont hold up to anything except looking ok in the showroom. My customer hired me to finish their custom kitchen because they weren't happy with their installer. Turns out its not the installer. It's the crappy cabinets. There is no structure to them. These are crappy box cabinets just like the garbage you can buy in Home Depot or Lowes. I told them I would finish their kitchen but wont promise it will last much after me leaving the driveway. They said but the salesman said these were custom. I showed him real custom cabinets with real life joinery and real screws and real 3/4 inch plywood all which will last. Sagging drawers that fail and cabinets the start to fall apart from general use. And that's what these are. Total crap don't waste your money. I think the only good reviews on this board either work for the company or are the salesmen who sling this crap. Shame on you for selling crap to good people. Shame shame shame. Stop taking money from hard working good people. You can only install crap so far because it will always be what it is... crap. Don't waste your time

"Great Cabinets"
I am a professional remodeler in SW FL. Recently I have used UltraCraft cabinets through a local dealer in 3 projects. I am frankly surprised at the poor reviews I read on this site. My cabinet designer was great, the cabinets came in within 5-6 weeks and they had no problems. The quality of the box and finish is terrific. I wonder if some of the problems have to do with the dealer and installation? So sorry to read of problems. No cabinet company is perfect. I hope to continue using this product with the same great results.

"100 year warranty. Not!"
In April 2007, we had our kitchen completely refinished. Our designer from Callier & Thompson here in St. Louis recommended Ultracraft cabinets, so we had the Coral Springs cabinets in cherry with a chocolate finish installed. We love our kitchen. However, after just five years, we noticed that there was a problem with the finish on one of the cabinets. Now, eight years after installation, there are a number of cabinets that have scratched finish. It is frustrating to us to see these flaws in our beautiful kitchen. On March 21, I contacted Callier & Thompson to let them know of the issue. Although they are no longer an UltraCraft dealer, they contacted the local UltraCraft representative, Tom Crum. I communicated with Tom via email on March 25, sending him information and photos. He said he would see what he could do. Since that day, I have contacted him numerous times via phone (he said he was waiting to hear from the factory) and email (no response). I know that a representative from Callier & Thompson has also attempted to contact him. On April 24, I wrote and mailed a letter to both the President/CEO and VP of Operations at UltraCraft in Raleigh, NC. Neither has contacted me. Funny thing is, the company advertises a 100-Year Warranty on all their cabinets. This warranty is easy to find online - http://www.ultracraft.com/about-us/warranties. This page shows that this warranty is effective for cabinets purchased from November 1, 2003, until present. Under the terms of the warranty "Finish deviations must be inspected by an authorized UltraCraft representative. Determination will be made following the inspection whether to repair in the field or to return the product to the factory for refinishing or replacement. No field repair may be made without approval from UltraCraft." I have requested that someone come out and inspect my cabinets, but I am being ignored. UltraCraft doesn't stand by their warranty.

"Ultra craft cabinets very poor quality"
While the cabinets look lovely initially the quality is very poor. The finish separated from the doors . Several of the decorative moldings also separated. Even more disturbing is that I have been trying for over 2 years to get someone from the company to come and recommend what could be done to fix the cabinets. I have repeatedly been told that no one could do a site visit. I have never experienced such a poor quality product or such poor customer service. I would not recommend Ultra Craft cabinets.

Bought expensive white painted wood cabinets. Top of the line. They are anything but top of the line. The wood around the knobs have yellowed and nothing we have tried will get the yellow off. There is no reason they should have picked up anything like oil off of our hands if they were a good quality product. Would never recommend these to anyone. I should have bought cheap cabinets since that is what I got anyway! Had a rep out and he said they couldn't do anything for us. We must have "done" something to them. Like what? Use them?

"UltraCraft Cabinets"
9 months to complete a kitchen? Is there a need to say more? Ordered cabinets June 18, 2013. some, not all, were delivered (balance had to be paid without viewing) in Sept. Opened 5 boxes and stopped. The cabinets were falling apart. Our contractor refused them. Took pictures. Rep came out as well as dealer. Parent com., Norcraft, and kcma were contacted. UltraCraft refused to refund monies. Finally in Oct. UltraCraft agreed to remake them. Thanksgiving delivery was questionable but X-mas delivery was promised which did not happened. Delivery started (the order was not complete)in Jan. 2014. Mistakes and defects were still present. March 17, 2014 the last of our order was delivered. 9 Months without a finished kitchen. Same on UltraCraft.
