History

Sub-Zero Freezer Company, Inc. was founded on August 20, 1945 by Westye Bakke in Madison, Wisconsin, who built his first free-standing refrigerator, just two years earlier in his basement. In the 1950s, the company built its first built-in refrigerator, eventually expanding to a full line of refrigerators. Sub-Zero is a privately held company, headquarted in Madison, Wisconsin

Warranty

Sub-Zero offers a full five-year sealed system warranty and limited six- through 12-year warranty on the sealed system and a full two-year warranty on the total product. Warranties start from the installation date, not the original purchase date. Service, however, must be provided by Sub-Zero, in order for any warranty to apply.
