Frigidaire Stoves/Ranges/Ovens

Frigidaire brings to the market a variety of cooking appliances including built-in ovens, slide-in, drop-in and freestanding ranges, cooktops and microwaves. All of their products are available for consumers looking for either gas or electric appliances. A dual fuel range is also available.

A recent Frigidaire innovation is what they call Easycare™ Genuine Stainless Steel - the popular stainless steel finish but without smudgy fingerprints. Another feature of Frigidaire ovens is their large capacity and large Visualite® windows. The new range of Frigidaire built-in ovens has a larger capacity and bigger Visualite windows that make for easy viewing of contents. These ovens come in convenient sizes and varieties such as single and double, gas and electric, microwave and electric oven combination.

History of Frigidaire

The roots of the Frigidaire Company go back to 1915 when an engineer named Alfred Mellowes invented the first true refrigerator. In 1916, he formed a company called the Guardian Refrigerator Company in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In the late 1970s, when Frigidaire had fallen on hard times, they were acquired by White Consolidated Industries (WCI). In 1986, WCI was purchased by AB Electrolux and became part of a group that consisted of White-Westinghouse, Gibson, Tappan, and Kelvinator. The Frigidaire headquarters remains in Dublin, Ohio.
