JC Penney Stoves/Ranges/Ovens

JC Penney sold kitchen appliances that were manufactured by General Electric and sold under the Penncrest brand name in the 1970s. Since then, the brand has merged with other companies and does not exist.

History

JC Penney was founded by James Cash Penney in 1902. He set up shop in Kemmerer, Wyoming and then later moved to Colorado where he rose to become manager and then partner of the Golden Rule Mercantile Company. He then opened a store in Kemmerer and built up his business on "instincts and good sense." In 1907, he bought out his partners and by 1912, had over 34 stores. In 1913, Cash consolidated his business under the name J.C. Penney Company Inc, with its headquarters in New York City. In 1964, the company headquarters moved to Dallas, TX. At the time of Cash's death in 1971, the company had hit $5 billion in sales and had a thriving catalog business.

Parts and Repair Information

JC Penney spare parts and repair services are available in many online stores. Additionally, because Penncrest appliances are no longer manufactured, vintage appliance dealers could be useful source in finding an accessory or spare part. Always find your appliance's model number and have it handy while shopping.

Warranty

The warranty for spare parts differs from store to store and should be confirmed at point of purchase.
