"Regret my Purchase"
My Kenmore Elite Refrig has been dead for 2 months. It is 14 months old and just out of warranty. Sears does not care. Waited 2 weeks for repair appt. changed control board and still does not work. Waited another 2 weeks for appt. and unable to diagnose. Waited another two weeks. Changed another control board. Still does not work. Waiting on another control board to be installed in 2 weeks. I have spent over $500 and it is still not working. No one at Sears cares to listen. Repair men I know confirm that Kenmore is not what it used to be and can't be trusted. I will never buy Kenmore again.

"No one cares"
Bought a refrigerator just under 2 years ago and it just broke down. No one at Sears really cares that I am without a refrigerator, they can come out in 2 weeks. My biggest concern is that as a consumer my refrigerator broke down this soon and basically it has no warranty. At the price I paid I certainly expected this to last a lot longer than 2 years. Besides Sears, Kenmore doesn't stand behind their product either, sad. I will never buy another product from Sears again!

"So many things I hate"
There are so many things I hate about this refrigerator. 1) because it is somewhat narrow the doors do not have enough heft to close easily on their own 2) there is an alarm if the door is left open, but only if the door is left wide open 3) the freezer also does not close easily. Consequently the door gets left open a little causing ice to build up and the unit to stop cooling 4) the space inside is poorly organized- not enough space for tall items 5) ice maker is slow and does not fill. Avoid at all cost

"Worse purchase ever!"
I purchased this Kenmore French Door Bottom Freezer in October 2015. These were the immediate concerns: 1. The refrigerator is noisy - sort of whistles, wheezes and grunts 2. The water from the dispenser is not cold. It might get cold after dispensing 3 glasses 3. The interior space is very small - just suitable for a single person only. 4. It takes monumental effort to clean the stainless steel and keep it streak-free. In February 2017, the icemaker stopped working (16 months after purchase). This caused the temperature to drop and resulted in complete food spoilage. Sears sent their technician - cost to repair was $374. I was not happy with the Service: he installed the parts and did not even bother to turn back on the ice-maker. The icemaker issues continue as of today May 5, a mere 3 months after repairs. I had a brief discussion with the Manager of the local Sears. They of course suggest purchasing a warranty and in any case payment for another service call is required. And then what I say to myself. Wait for the next problem to surface? In 1998 I purchased my 1st Kenmore refrigerator. That unit operated without any service call and I sold that house in 2006 - 9 years later - with the fridge still going. What has happened to the quality of the Kenmore brand to cause such a drop in quality? I am extremely unhappy and disappointed with this purchase. Never, ever again will I purchase this brand.

"Dissatisfied customer"
This refrigerator is supposed to be "stainless steel" but that is doubtful. After less than one year, the front of the refrigerator started to rust. When I called Sears, they told me that the "stainless steel" was only under warranty for 90 days. We paid $1,500 for the refrigerator that is rusty and the interior "stainless steel" is pitted. We got absolutely no satisfaction from Sears. This was our first Sears appliance and our last.

"We've been happy with the fridge"
I'm writing about the fridge we've had for about 3 years. Many things I really like about it, but there are two issues I'd like to point out. 1) If you have a large family or do very much entertaining, or like to cook so you have leftovers, think twice about this model. You have 1/2 the width of a normal fridge, which means the space to store items is limited. Plus in order to put in a gallon of milk, the bottom shelf has to be removed, so you have even less space. 2) there are places you push which are covered by a plastic piece to select either ice, water or crushed ice. We do use this feature a lot, but in less than one year the place where you push for water had cracked and when I asked about getting that changed, it involved replacing a very expensive part of the fridge... just for the plastic piece covering the push area! With those two items aside, we've been happy with the fridge. The ice maker works without any problems, changing the filter is relatively easy, the temperature holds well, and you can turn off the ice maker when you are going to be gone.

"No way to stabilize the wheels"
I purchased this refrigerator because it was the only one that would fit in my available space. It looks nice, is easy to clean, and keeps the food cold. It does have one issue. Every time I pull on the door handle, the entire unit rolls into the middle of the kitchen. I've had the delivery guys out twice to try and fix the problem. Bottom line, there is no way to stabilize the wheels. Now, I have to push on one door handle and pull on the other to keep it in place. Awkward! I do not think I would buy this unit again.

"Kenmore fridges"
This is the 3rd Kenmore refrigerator I buy in less than 10 years. Same problem as usual, it stops refrigerating and nothing can be done to fix it. It will have to be replaced. This time around, I will go elsewhere to buy my fridge. Enough with Sears, they don't have good appliances anymore.

"Kenmore Frenchdoor Refrigerator"
French doors with freezer on bottom, this appliance required three repairs within the first two years. The first repair was within nine months of purchase, the second repairs were within 18 months of purchase. Each time the problem was the exact same issue; excessive ice build up in the freezer, keeping the freezer door from closing. What was the most upsetting, was that the repair person said Sears was not only aware of the problem, they expected. My thought was, "you sold me a product you knew would fail". I was very upset and disappointed. I was very happy and proud when I bought my first Kenmore major appliance. At this point I have bought my last Kenmore/Sears appliance.

"Sears Kenmore top freezer refridge"
Brand new fridge 2 days past the 60 day warranty. Have extended warranty but still under manuf warranty. Making me wait 15 days for repair and they are not willing to exchange cause its 2 days past warranty. I will never buy from or be a sears customer again! Consumers beware!

"Awful Sears product and service"
I bought a Kenmore Elite. It has been sitting in my kitchen for 2 weeks, not working. I have thrown out all the food from my old fridge, which is not working properly, and when I bought the new one, I thought I could just move the food. Repair sevice has been out, ordered the part, which came broken, they ordered another which has just not arrived. I have been without a fridge for 2 weeks. I am keeping insulin in a cooler, and canceled a cookout last weekend. I did buy the warrwnty, for all the good it has done. I am still without a fridge.

"Ice maker repair side by side"
We purchased this side by side refrigerator in early 2006 and the ice maker has been broke most of the time. They come out and fix it only to go out again and again These repairmen do not know how fix the ice maker. Their is nobody who cares so we stuck with lemon. I would never buy a kenmore refrigerator again s long as I live.

"Not so Great for Storage Refrigerator"
I have only been using this refrigerator for a few months since that's how long we've been in this apartment. It does keep my food cold and it works well. I only have two problems with it. The first problem is storage. The shelving is not laid out in a way that makes it convenient to store food. In the freezer part there are no shelves. This makes everything very disorganized as all of the food is just in mounds. I can make not a lot of food seem like a ton and seem very hard to find. The only other problem I have had is in the door shelving. It cannot be filled too full. I discovered this when I opened the door too fast and one of the shelves broke. It has not been repaired yet. We still use it, but we have a couple of clips on the shelf to keep it where it is supposed to be. This brand of refrigerator is fine. It runs fine and I would recommend it. However, I would not recommend this model. It is simply very inconvenient.

"Elite Freezer & Refrigerator units"
Purchased Elite Model 253.44723110 Refrigerator and the Elite 253.44733108 freezer about two months ago, August, 2011. They are great. More than enough room for a 'want-to-be-chief', to stock everything. The shelves are not so deep that things are hidden from view. I have had many "Wow what a great refrigerator" and "I love it!" My only problem is that I can't research the units on line! Parts yes, picture, availability and cost, no! Maybe it is not made any more and removed from the line. I would like my daughter to view the equipment, to install in her new house.

"Beware of Kenmore's Warranty"
I loved our Kenmore refrigerator until about 3 weeks ago. It was spacious at 25 cubic feet, and the internal water dispenser was wonderful. However, it developed a sealed system leak. This is a 500-700$ repair that is not covered by an exceptional parts warranty. Had it been any other major brand, Whirlpool, LG, etc. it would have had at least a 5 year manufacturers warranty standard. Even though Kenmore's warranty information online says sealed system is covered, my specific owners manual just said 1 year. So, my advice: be very careful, check the specific owners manual, as that is all that Sears will stand by.

"I have a Sears Kenmore refrigerator."
I bought my Sears Kenmore refrigerator about 3 years ago, when my other went ka-put. I decided this time I would try something with the freezer on the bottom and the double doors. I love the fact that you can stick a whole large pizza box in this one. It's a really good refrigerator and I would recommend it to anyone. It has ample space, not only in the main section, but also the doors are wide enough, you can easily fit a gallon of milk or big containers of juice on the shelves there. One of the drawbacks is that the freezer department, even though it is quite large, is hard to keep organized. It is deep which means you are stacking food and packages on top of one another, and when you are looking for anything specific you have to go digging. Another small problem, it's sometimes really loud when making/dropping ice into the ice bin. This is a very minor inconvenience, but something worth mentioning. Overall, I'm very happy with this refrigerator and I'm glad I bought it. It has a lot of space, with drawers for your fruits/vegetables and deli. And the freezer has a separate small pull-out for items used more often.

"Kenmore Black Refrigerator"
I have owned my Kenmore Black 18.2 cu. ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator for about 5 years now and it is still runnning like new. I have loved this item ever since I purchased it. I bought it at sears and I did not get the extended warranty so Im very glad that it has just been perfect. I cant really say anything negative about it besides that its really simple; It doesnt have some of the functions that the newer ones do. However this item has every fuction I need. What I love about it is that it was affordable. This was one of the cheapest they had but I have purchased Kenmore items prior to this one so I knew there items are amazing. So far nothing has went wrong which is really great. 5 Years and no problems so far. I would recommend this to my friends in a heartbeat its the perfect refrigerator for a very suprising affordable price. Overall this item is just perfect if I could do it over again I would buy it all over again.

"Kenmore Elite"
I purchased a Kenmore Stainless Steel Elite refridgerator three years ago along with a service plan. Since than I have had to have a repair man out four times. Now the refridgerator's interior is cracking all over and looks like an old old refridgerator. Sears answer to these cracks is to put sealant on them. I figure if I pay $3000 for a refridgerator I shouldn't have to look at the cracks. The repairman they send to my house is always late or doesn't show up at all. He than lies to the service call center and states I am not home. DO NOT purchase this refridgerator!

"Kenmore Refrigerator Falls Short"
I have owned a Kenmore Coldspot side by side refrigerator for 10 years. There are a few features I do like. First, the spill proof shelves inside the refrigerator comes in very handy. It is much easier to clean when kids accidentally knock over a small cup of juice. Second, the shelves are very easy to remove, making them easy to clean??"just slide them out and rinse them over the sink. Third, it comes with a humidity control compartment which keeps vegetables fresh for a longer period of time. The problems I have had with the refrigerator, however, over-shadow these features. First, the temperature control on the refrigerator does not seem to work very well. In one temperature setting, the refrigerator barely feels cold and milk would go bad very quickly. Turn the temperature down just one notch and the vegetables would freeze at the bottom compartment. Second, the ice machine in the freezer gets jammed all the time. Every so often, I would have to use a mallet to break up the ice so ice would actually come out properly. Third, the plastic controls to enable/disable the ice from coming out is made of really cheap plastic. Within a few years of use, the plastic cracked. Finally, I just don't like the side by side model. It is really hard to put larger pieces of meat in the freezer. I prefer freezers that sit at the bottom of the refrigerator, where the compartment is very wide. Overall, the Kenmore refrigerator works, but I wouldn't recommend it to others.

"A look at the pros and cons of a side by side door Kenmore refrigerator"
I purchased a Kenmore side-by-side door refrigerator seven years ago. It has an automatic icemaker and filtered water dispenser on the front and was happy with it the first 13 months. After 13 months, the icemaker broke and had to have it replaced. All went well for about two years, and then the same thing happened again. I had it replaced once more and with in another two years; same thing happened. I did not repair it this last time and am using ice cube trays now, which I dump the ice into the dispenser, as the ice cubes will still come out of the front if there is ice in the bin. The water dispenser has always worked fine, but I find that the price of the filters to be over priced and they need to be changed every six months. I would not recommend this brand and model number to anyone, as the icemakers seem defective.
