"Poor Quality Control at Factory/Assembly"

"Use Extreme Caution - Homecrest cannot keep a delivery schedule at this time"
Currently they are oversold and cannot meet any kind of a promised delivery date. My primary complaint is there were some initial quality issues (some door and drawer fronts should have never left the plant). They have missed multiple delivery dates for the replacements. What should be "rush" replacement pieces are lumped in with regular production pieces... crazy. Had good luck with this line before.

"Contractor"
I am a contractor in the Buffalo, NY area. I have strayed a few times from my normal brand (Schrock) and used Homecrest. Had problems with both of the jobs where I used Homecrest. On one job, while installing the drawer into the base unit, the drawer literally fell apart into five pieces in my hands! Upon inspection I found that most of the staples had missed their intended targets, and the hot glue didn't do much either. Good thing the homeowner wasn't standing right there to witness that. I had to tell her that I had to swap out the drawer because I wasn't happy with the finish. My salesman at the dealer (Kitchen World) had it repaired for me, but was very nonchalant about it, and acted like this never happens! I began having my doubts about Homecrest then. The final straw was when a very good customer whom I had done a kitchen using Homecrest seven years prior contacted me and informed me they were coming apart ! Upon inspecting the job, I discovered that the Thermofoil finish was peeling off many of the cabinets ! When I contacted (Kitchen World) again the manager informed me the warranty period was up. Are you kidding me?! In my experience a kitchen should last 20 Yrs. some longer. After some strong arming them, they agreed to replace the affected doors and drawer fronts. My (excellent) customer insisted on paying me to replace the parts. I have never seen cabinets self- destruct like these did ! There will most likely be more issues with these cabinets, but fortunately this customer is very understanding. As for me- No more Homecrest! Total junk!

"Very happy"
I just installed my new Homecrest Cabinets and we love them. We choose the Arbor Maple with upgrade of plywood boxes. The doors are soft close and the drawers solid wood with also a soft close. This is a cabinet line that offers particleboard construction or all wood construction. The up charge for all wood construction was $475.00 for the entire kitchen! The cabinets have a lifetime warranty and all the moving parts. Best purchase I have ever made!

"Absolute junk for the price we paid"
Let's just say it simple, "expensive Garbage". Will never purchase again. The dealer was weird, rather creepy, like crooked creepy. Had a corner cabinet fall apart on me. Would be better quality if I just built my own cabinets myself next time

"It’s not the cabinets"
We bought Homecrest cabinets from Allure design. The order was shipped incorrectly, took forever to get it straight. Now we are missing trim, shelves. Homecrest has very terrible customer service. Won’t assist homeowners. Only deal with dealer. The dealer is a crook. Cabinets look great but not complete. Make sure you don’t use Allure design and buy other cabinets. Trust a consumer.

"Fairly good but would not purchase again."
Purchased a new home in 1986 with these builder's standard cabinets. House has 15 cabinets in kitchen and 7 in (2.5) baths + dressing area of MBR. A few minor problems; 1) self closing (spring enclosed) hinges failed on 6 cabinets 2) drawer bottoms/slides broken on 2 actively utilized drawers 3) surface finish faded (even on cabinets not exposed to sunlight) 4) weak undercabinet structure below kitchen sink. Fairly good for current lifetime (over 27+ years). Biggest drawback is pathetic support by Home Crest. Impossible to buy their spare parts. I simply must make my own repairs and improvise by hunting down similar parts from other sources. Overall, quality is about 70% [out of 100%]. As these things are a twice in a lifetime type of purchase, I'd avoid this company.

"Mine Are Fine"
I only have these in a half bath. I had Aristrocraft when our house was built & hated them from before we moved in. My Home Crest are sturdy, no problems with the hinges, drawers, or finish. I like them & definitely would consider them in our next bathroom remodel-our son's bath, now a guest room bath.

"Very Happy"
I love Homecrest cabinets and we have had them for 12 years now. This is a brand that offers particle board construction and offers all wood construction as a slight upgrade. I can see from alot of posts here that there was an issue of hinges breaking. I had no issue with our local dealer. They just mailed them to out to our house.

"Kitchen Dealer"
We are a Kitchen dealer of Homecrest Cabinets for over 40 years. This has been a cabinet line that has transformed from apartment grade cabinets to offering all wood construction, wood doors & drawer fronts, dovetail drawer with a soft close mechanism, soft close hinges, and they can customize just about anything needed. The cabinet line now also offers a lifetime warranty on the cabinetry and moving parts. The biggest issue we have seen was the hinges made many years ago had a plastic part inside that malfunctioned over time. The hinge has a lifetime warranty and free replacement hinges can be mailed. You need to know if you have a full overlay hinge (door covers most of the face frame of cabinet)or standard overlay (roughly 1" of space around door on face frame). I hope this helps as with any product it comes down to the dealer that sells the product to back up any issues or warranty on the product. Typically the manufacturer needs you to work with a local dealer. If you don't know your local dealer call Homecrest direct at 1-574-535- 9300 and they can help you out.

Review:
"Poor Quality with no customer service"
Very disappointed. The cherry cabinets arrived in rough shape. A poor quality finish. They told me that they are oversanded at the manufacturer as they are used to working with harder oak. They "touched up my whole kitchen". 1/2 the preinstalled hinges are the wrong type with an open hole at the top, slide with use when installed on rt side. Half of them are broken. There are no manufacturer stamps, no way to find them. The local business went out of business. I contacted Homecrest several times regarding replacing 2 slides that are broken. They are difficult to get a reply. They told me they shipped them Fed Ex, never happened. Contacted them again and they said "Sorry our mistake, can't help you, contact the manufacturer" Poor customer service after a substantial investment. This was a large project, big kitchen. So disappointed, wish I had not used this poor quality product with even worse customer service.

"Hinges snapped and inside drawer"
My kitchen was installed in 2003 - cabinet doors look good and current - but that little plastic piece broke out of most of them so they will not close. Talking to my local rep -- no satisfaction -- he said I should bring a hing in. I am 65 and this just isn't going to happen. Now one of the plastic pieces at the back of the drawer runner has broken -- so I can't put the drawer in as the runner has nothing to attach to. Never use their products again. I would like to know where the last writer thinks she could have gotten her hinges free? Tell please.

My HomeCrest Cabinets cabinets are 13 years old. Been very happy with them. Only issue were the hinges. Several broke and could not get a response from a local HomeCrest dealer if I could get replacements. Spent a fortune replacing all hinges when I could have gotten then free!

"HomeCrest cabinet door hinges problem"
I also have the same problem with the hinges no longer holding door shut as a plastic piece broke off on several of my doors. The lumber yard where I purchased them said I was opening the door to far. Well that is not the case... They could not get me the same kind of hinges for my HomeCrest cabinets and the ones they sold me are a poor fit and my cabinets are looking crooked and askewed.

"Plastic pieces in hinges broken"
We also have HomeCrest cabinets that were installed in our home when it was built in 2003. We are the third owners of the home. My husband and I are in our sixties and are not mistreating the cabinets in any way, yet the plastic inserts in the hinges are breaking and now the cabinet doors won't stay closed. There is no way to contact HomeCrest directly unless you know the dealer that installed the cabinets. The dealer's name was not conveyed to us. The number of complaints indicate that these hinges were defective when installed and should be replaced by the manufacturer, or at least the replacement parts should be supplied free of charge.

"Decent cabinets, but terrible hinges"
The cabinets are of overall good quality. The problem is with their door hinges. They use a small piece of nylon to provide tension for door closure. Unfortunately they crack with regular use and require expensive and time consuming replacements. You can't order them directly from HomeCrest... Heck they don't even include a customer service phone number. You're directed to a dealer, who then have to order them for you. My closest dealer is 32+ miles away. Will not purchase cabinets from a manufacturer that doesn't sell replacement parts directly.

"Homeowner"
We purchased all Home Crest cabinets for the kitchen and bathrooms, when our home was built 11 years ago. There is a plastic part inside the hinges that breaks and pops out. This causes the doors not to close properly. I have contacted the cabinet contractor a couple times and he has not come to evaluate the problem. The hinges need to be replaced because they are faulty.
