"Worst buy"
The quality is very bad and the paint start to disappear after first year. This is not a durable kitchen cabinet. I contacted them to replace some doors and the life time warranty did not cover it because I used the cabinet. Direct response from them: Our finishes are meant to be durable, but they are not impervious to these factors, and it is our determination the issues you are seeing are a direct result of that use over time. Definition of “Durable” from google: adjective. Something that is durable is strong and lasts a long time without breaking or becoming weaker. I bought brand “Decora” cabinet for bathroom and laundry room they are as good as the first day.

"Worst Cabinet Available"
Purchased lousy American Skidmark cabinets back in 2013. Ordered everything through Home Depot. The installer that Home Depot used at the time was Crew2. (not sure if they still use them). The man came to measure the kitchen space, talked loudly the entire time. Got all the measurements wrong. I had to have them come again. Got it all wrong again. Finally, management of Home Depot came and measured. Guess what? Wrong again. I finally did it myself and told them to stick to the measurements I supplied. Then the cabinets arrived. Out of 12 cabinets, 4 were good. The rest were damaged in some way. All of the replacements came about 4 weeks later. The guys showed up on a truck with the cabinets in boxes and took our replacements and just threw them on the truck without boxes. After that fiasco, we decided to install ourselves. That was the only smooth part of the experience. It's 10 years later. Our white cabinets are turning yellow here and there, especially the trim boards they supplied. The wood is out-gassing, which means it wasn't truly dry when they painted it. So parts are turning the white paint yellow. We'll probably have to have it repainted soon. It's not kitchen grease because we don't fry anything and use a good range hood fan at all times. Some parts of the yellow aren't anywhere near the stove. We've had to rig some cabinets where they busted apart after only a year. This is a lousy, terrible product. Don't buy from Home Depot or American Woodmark (which was bought by Home Depot). Out of all our new home experiences (and there were many!) this was by far the worse one.

"Don't Do It!"
Cabinets arrived with doors not properly finished and side cuts of wood, leaving garish differences in design. MANY parts not shipped and had to be reordered. A few broken. Company is resending, with no issues there. Bulk of our issues are in installation. Doors initially put on backwards, pieces missing. Pieces damaged, as installation progressed. It got worse when backsplash was installed and 69 wrong tiles were put up. This meant more redoing, more cabinet damage. More and more time. It has been months now, and the tile is still not complete (3rd time is the charm?), and we have strings of plywood hanging over the sink, where a shelf to hide that should be in place, along with the shelf smashed by the installer when he tried to tighten it back in, after being asked to just leave it alone, and go, until a supervisor could see it. Sad. Disappointed. Discouraged. Don't get yourself into a situation like this, where the outcome will never be as good as the plan. If you can find a good cabinetmaker, locally, go that route and avoid the big box issues with installation by heaven knows who!

"Poorly made cabinets"
I ordered 18 cabinets through Home Depot in March ($15,000). After waiting two months, 6 of the cabinets were so poorly constructed the installer said they were unusable. Another 9 had missing or damaged parts that needed to be ordered and replaced, so nothing could be installed. American Woodmark said it will take over a month to even SHIP new cabinets and parts. I gutted my kitchen, installed new flooring and I am just stuck just waiting. This installer said its like they didn't care.

"Terrible manufacturing"
I have had to reorder 75% of my cabinets because they ship damaged and flawed product. In certain cases they will not repair or replace but sent me paint to repaint the cabinet that was shipped with terrible paint job. Avoid this company at all costs. I wish I would have seen these reviews before I shopped. Anthony is the vendor rep I have been dealing with in the Tacoma Washington area, he does not want to take care of customers, just his commission.

"Poor workmanship and poor customer service"
It's pretty sad when you spend thousands of dollars on a kitchen and end up picking the best of the bad cabinets. Got a phone call from David saying he realizes that we have had "some problems" and there would be some compensation. Multiple emails and no response back. Took months to get our kitchen done because of broken cabinets and very poor workmanship just to be ghosted by the company!! Save yourself from this company and go somewhere else!! They are not worth the headache and lousy cabinets.

"Junk cabinets and ignorant management"
Their cabinets are not made well, they come scratched up, shelving is broken. Staples piercing the wood with cracks in it. Even the silicone sealant has huge gaps where they missed spots. I reached out to HD who told me American Woodmark would discount 10% and made it clear that the issues do not affect the integrity of the worksmanship. Their response is incorrect, split wood can rot and in my opinion shows the integrity of the company with such a response.

"Huge mistake - awful quality"
What a waste of money! Huge kitchen and laundry gut/remodel. Cabinets have cracks, places that are not painted, dings, scratches, spots in the finish. After months of pleading, finally got an AW rep to come to our house. She agreed that the cabinets were a mess and took hundreds of photos. Assured us she would get back to us within a week. A month went by. After we complained to HD, she finally called to say most of the issues are "within spec" or that we had destroyed the cabinets ourselves. Um... no... We are going to have to hire someone to paint these cabinets to make them even semi decent.

"Very cheap!"
We did a full renovation of our kitchen and purchased our American Woodmark cabinets from Home Depot. These cabinets are cheap! They lack craftsmanship, quality, attention to detail and to top it off their customer service is even worse. We had to make 4 re-orders for cabinets that had uneven paint, dirt in paint, scratches, scuffs, etc. We were so frustrated with the reordering of cabinets. We were continually complaining. We requested the American Woodmark representative come out to our home and see these cabinets. We were sure they were missed during their quality assurance check. First, the representative did was not interested in coming out to see us. He only agreed to come out after several weeks of us insisting. Then he shows up to our house and does not even know our names. He was extremely cocky and arrogant. He never apologized or showed any type of concern or understanding AND proceeds to tell us that those cabinets meet their quality of standards... mind you damaged cabinets. We worked out a refund from Home Depot and ran. Please do not waste your time. Made is USA is not all that it is cracked up to be for this company.

"Cheap quality...poor design"
We bought these kitchen cabinets through Home Depot and there were many disappointing issues. 1. The door material was switched on us from wood to MDF we should have gotten a rebate. We wanted wood and would have not deleted this model. 2. The Door hardware quilt is low quality not the flexibility like the higher ends hinges 3. The paint easily chips. 4. No directions for installation. 5. Glass inserts for doors are just simple pins instead of silicon. 6. The drawer height is about 3/4 shallower than standard drawers. 7. Lack of Service, no response from Home Depot when we complained...They just don't care. 8. Cost (HIGH) vs value. POOR We had purchased a similar size kitchen 2 years earlier and the quality and design and finish was far superior and they included installation. We thought we could save some money with HD but the cost of the cabinets and the cost of the install exceeded the cost of a superior custom cabinets...NEVER BUY FROM Home Depot. Very Disappointed...American Woodmark use to be a great company until Purchased by Home Depot.

"Don't Waste or Timeeeee or Money"
They overcharged me for an over designed kitchen. Tell me I'll get my cabinets in 6-8 weeks. It's 15 weeks later and my cabinets have been delayed another 3 weeks with No Guarantee they will ship on their new date. Took my money right away but can't give me an actual update on my 9 cabinets. Yes 9 cabinets. If it takes them 18+ weeks to my 9 cabinets I can only imagine how long others will have to wait. I will not be paying for this trash.

Very poor quality. We're just sending stuff back that is poorly made. The rep needs to contact the customer. Not send apology cards in the replacement cabinet. Sent back cabinet boxes (2) replacements worse. But there was an apology card inside. Just unloaded a lazy Susan cabinet, waited a month for it. I would have been embarrassed to ship it out. Not damage from shipping,

"Cherry Merlot cabinets"
Bought cherry merlot finish through the cabinet remodeler company that installed the entire kitchen. Horrible product. Multiple reorders due to defects: full of defect and damage several times, cabinet door size was wrong, color mismatch. Very poor quality. (It took 20 months to get the kitchen issues resolved. I believe all of it was not due to reorders - part of it was the delays of the builder - but reorder played a role too.

"Four months to ship"
I placed an order through Home Depot on August 5 for Woodmark cabinets in Duraform. Before placing the order I was told my cabinets would ship in about 6-8 weeks. When I verified that my order went through with Woodmark on the same day, I was told that my cabinets would not ship until December 7. I have already paid close to $9000 for an entire kitchen. My demo started in July and is finished and everything is in my kitchen.... Except my cabinets. I could have had custom cabinetry built before now. Woodmark is taking four months to build and ship my cabinets. I can't even be assured they will not be damaged or the wrong size, not with this experience so far. This is ridiculous. Home Depot and Woodmark really missed the mark here. What should have been a good experience with two well-known and trusted brands has turned to an incredibly stressful and frustratingly long stretch of time.

"Worse Company"
Is it 8/10/21 today. We ordered a laundry room of cabinets with a bench seat in April. We were so excited to getting more space than we have with extended cabinet sizes. We they arrived three weeks ago we found out that American Woodmark made these, they are KCMA tested since none of the cabinets have the seal inside, none of the cabinets went through they're "BeautyGuard Finishing System" since the paint feels like they kept the saw dust on while they painted leaving a sandy feel to the boxes. Horrible cabinets. Lowe's got the Shenandoah rep out to see them and he said that he would not send them back because of that. I said since they are not installed, they are not mine and I'm not accepting them like this. So, they re-ordered and the new batch and they arrived yesterday. The trim pieces are cracked, warped, painted dripped...worse that the first. This company cannot make cabinets and certainly do not have any quailty control. The entire order is being returned and I told them they have to get out of my house by the end of the week since I am not their storage facility. Not out of here, they go out on our driveway.

"Beautiful Cabinets along with Great Service"
We had a new kitchen installed August of 2020. This was our first full kitchen remodel after 25 plus years. We had builder cabinets that were installed when the house was built in 1989. The new cabinets we selected were made by American Woodmark. The style of Cabinet was Savannah and the color was Auburn Maple Glaze. We purchased these through Home Depot in Bucks County, Pa. The designer was P.J. was she was excellent. She guided us through the whole process and provided quality suggestions and service. We purchased cabinets, counter top, back splash there as well. We upgraded to all plywood cabinet construction and this was well worth it. The cost of the cabinets was moderate and we used are own installer. The cabinets came on time ( about 3-4 weeks as promised) and were well wrapped. There was a cabinet missing and this was noted on the delivery slip. We also received a call prior telling us this and we used their tracking system where this was noted as well. The cabinet did not pass their quality inspection. That missing cabinet came a week later and was in good shape. There were a few other minor issues with shade of stain on a drawer front and one cabinet door. We called and both were replaced without any questions within ten days. The customer service at American Woodmark was excellent. The cabinet quality appears good (time will be the true test) and we are happy with the style and color. Overall positive experience.

Review:
"Worst experience I've ever had"
Do not buy from American Woodmark they are extremely unprofessional... will deliver damaged products... give false promises... steal your money... and be prepared to go 4-6 months without a kitchen! A review from a military mom who is now no longer able to breastfeed due to this neglectful company. Situation has continued to go unresolved and been ongoing for almost 5 months now. My husband and I ordered custom cabinets from Lowe's in Colorado back in October from a company called American woodmark. We were going to wait until after the holidays but they had a special going on and guaranteed that if we purchased by that week they would be delivered before the holidays. My husband was laid off for the winter season so we decided to jump out the window and go for it so he could install them during his time off. My family was coming from Wisconsin for Christmas and decided to drive out earlier to help with our cabinet install. The cabinets arrived by thanksgiving. We were excited knowing we had plenty of time to install before Christmas. The first cabinet we opened was backwards. The second cabinet we opened had a hole punched through the back. The third cabinet was warped. We knew this didn't seem right that 3/3 cabinets so far were damaged. We talked to our Lowe's rep who personally came to our house to see the damage. He ordered new cabinets of the damages we had seen so far and encouraged us to upwrap the rest of them. As we found more and more damaged cabinets we kept reporting to him. We were originally told that any damaged cabinets would be replaced within 10 days per the policy. This was not the case. We received one cabinet a month later and we were told more would not be arriving until 6 weeks after that (2.5 months after original damage report). It was then revealed that the replacement cabinet we received thus far was also damaged and even more than the first time around. In the meantime we tried seeing if we could install some of the cabinets that weren't damaged so we could get enough put together to get our countertop measurement. Turned out there were only 3 Undamaged cabinets in our whole order! We stopped reordering damaged cabinets per the reps request because we were advised to speak to the managers and corporate first as this was clearly a very large issue. We went through all the cabinets and provided them with a picture diagram damage sheet of all the damages of the cabinets that we reordered as well as the cabinets that we hadn't ordered for replacement yet. Some cabinets were scratched others had nails punctured through some even had blood on the inside! We contacted several individuals including corporate multiple times. We kept being told someone would contact us back and no one would. We had to keep calling and fight for over 3 weeks for someone to finally take us seriously. At this point we have been without a kitchen for over 2 months and due to not being able to cook and provide myself with proper nutrition I have no longer been able to breastfeed my 7 month old. My supply went down and unless I spend ridiculous amounts of money eating out every night I am struggling to breastfeed my baby and we haven't been able to make our own baby food. I feel robbed of the motherhood experience I wanted for me and my child. Don't even get me started with the struggle of having to wash dishes and try to sanitize bottles in a bath tub due to not having a kitchen sink anymore now. This company had the Nerve to offer 10%. 10%! A total of 10% off for damaged cabinets ignoring the fact that they haven't replaced the damaged cabinets yet... ignoring the fact that their policy is 10 days for replacements and we've gone over 2 months without an official end date in sight... ignored the fact that they shipped cabinets with blood in them and nails poking through and holes punctured and some that weren't sprayed with color thouroughly... only 10% for not being able to breastfeed my first and only baby anymore or the fact that we had to spend ridiculous amounts of money to eat and buy baby food because we can't cook and prepare food at home anymore... ignored the fact that even if they were to replace our entire order with all new cabinets we will have gone 4-6 months without a kitchen... ignored the fact that once we do get replacement cabinets (IF we even do) that my husband no longer has the time off to install them himself anymore... and ignored the fact that our Christmas was ruined and our families wasted their money coming all the way to Colorado from Wisconsin! They had the NERVE to only offer 10% and then added that they would waive the 300$ shipping fee which we didn't even have the responsibility to pay for in the first place! I'm beside myself with anger right now. They think their offer is fair even though they've ignored that there are several more damaged cabinets that haven't been re ordered or replaced yet and that we will have to continue going kitchenless for several MORE months. And it hurts me everyday I have to look at my baby feeling like I failed him because circumstances resulted in me no longer being able to breastfeed him and make our own home made baby food. It kills me to feel I failed him as a mom and I was robbed of that experience and bond with him. Their offer and idea of a solution was a huge slap in the face. They haven't even began to order and replace all the cabinets that need to be fixed and by the time they do we will have gone without a kitchen for a total of upwards of 4-6 months without a kitchen. Their solution doesn't even begin to cover the stress and pain we've gone through... not to mention one of the replacement cabinets we have received so far was also damaged so we can't even trust their integrity that the rest will be in good shape when they do arrive! The whole experience has hurt our family in more ways than I can even begin to describe. As a service member in the military and a mother of a 7 month old this has been the most stressful and frustrating experience I've ever endured. We eventually negotiated a fair price if we agreed to accept the damaged cabinets as is. Then when we tried to get our reimbursement credit we were shorted by hundreds of dollars. It is now March 22 and we ordered back in October. They will not return my calls or emails and Lowe's has informed us that American woodmark will not give us the remainder of our money because they feel they have been "generous enough". We had an agreement! You can make a deal with them and decide a month later to change the price and short us and steal our money because you didn't feel like you had to honor your agreement anymore and too chicken to even call us back! I am about to loose my s---! They made a deal and after over a month of waiting for our reimbursement they shorted us and don't care at all they they went against their agreement. I warn everyone do not buy from American Woodmark they will deliver s----- products... give false promises... steal your money... and if you order from them be prepared to go 4-6 months without a kitchen!

"New home cabinetry"
We tore down an older 3 bedroom home and built a 4000 SF 5 bedroom 4 bath home on same property in 2009. We needed a complete functional kitchen with double ovens, 45 inch cooktop, wine cooler, separate refrigerator and freezer and trash as well as recycle cabinets. Pull knobs on all doors handles on all drawers as well as soft close functionality. We had to include the same cabinetry for our bathrooms and laundry room. We chose Butterscotch glaze cabinetry because of ease to clean as well as appearance. We worked with Ann, the kitchen designer at Home Depot, Scottsdale Arizona. She worked with us in the store and made many a trip to our new home to get exact measurements during the build process. Home Depot offers many brands however we chose American Woodmark. Why did we wait 10 years to write a review? These cabinets have held up way better than my old cabinets in my older home. We use them every day and receive rave reviews on the quality, design and functionality. When folks visit for the first time and remark the cabinets look brand new, it is the testament of quality. We would purchase the same manufacturer again and suggest to all who ask to look hard at American Woodmark for their new cabinetry. An absolutely satisfied customer. Thank all who helped build my dream kitchen.
