"Terrible cutlery drawer"
I was washing my cutlery drawer when the wood like finish on the bottom wiped off in my hands. It turns out that Kraftmaid uses a photographic paper that gives a wood like finish but it is actually photo paper not real wood not even veneer. My warranty claim response from Kraftmaid is that I damaged the product by neglect, which is not true. I spent a lot of money and did a fair amount of research to have the best cabinets in my kitchen. They really missed the mark and my sales rep at Homedepot confirmed that he has had customers complain about the same issue. No excuse for this problem. My rep also told me that Homedepot has stopped selling Kraftmaid products.

"Looks Beautiful"
Love this kitchen cabinetry. Looks absolutely beautiful. But after 7 years the outside paneling was slightly lifting when we closed the doors and the edges became a bit unglued. I called the Kraftmaid 800 number and they asked for pictures and the sizes of each cabinet. Kraftmaid sent me all new door panels and drawer panels shipped to my home so I could replace them within a few weeks. My husband originally did the installation, so he will replace them. The customer service was excellent. The product looks beautiful, the cabinets and drawers all worked perfect. It was only the glued outside paneling that was defective. I am glad that they replaced them. I would recommend this cabinetry.

"Kraftmaid Lacks Quality Control"
Our cabinets arrived with multiple cracked, chipped dinged, dented and broken face frames. Their solution make you wait 2-3 weeks for replacement Parts. We had a cabinet with a broken face frame that too 2 weeks to replace. The new cabinet arrived in worse condition than the first, it has severe water damage. It looks like someone laid it down in a mud puddle. Not only that the finished end has a large chip and to make matters worse it was made using the wrong material. Kraftmaid solution is to make you wait 2-3 for another replacement with no guarantee it will be any better than the first 2. The rep even told me if they tried to expedite the shipping via air freight it like arrive damaged, basically a guarantee it would arrive damaged. Stay far far far away from Kraftmaid as you can both Masco Cabinetry, Kraftmaid's manufacturer and their freight company lack any type of quality control.

"By these reviews....gone from 4 to 1 over time"
I bought a resale home. The kitchen cabinets are 15 years old. Seem to be of good quality, good construction. The color of the cabinets is dark....like a cabernet. Birch seems to be a an "different" wood to use, a soft hard wood. The color is a little irregular per cabinet but it could be because of the wood grain and time. But I the cabinets are still attractive. I had never heard of this name of the cabinets so I just went to the Internet for reviews. The early reviews give the products good reviews, but recent reviews more "1s" and "2s" seem more prevalent. Like so many products and services, the quality of manufacture and then the installation seems to be irregular. To all who purchase a product....good luck.

"Horrible Quality"
I am writing this review to hopefully prevent someone else from spending almost 20K on these cabinet. I purchased white shaker style cabinets. They looked beautiful in the store and at the price level they are I was mistaken to believe they must be high quality. After only a year, the paint began cracking and peeling. Several of my door fronts have splits in the panel. I have never been so completely disappointed in a product. Again, when you spend almost $20,000 on all wood cabinets, they should last. The finish and the wood itself is garbage. If I had it to do all over again, for the quality of these cabinets, I could go to Lowes or Home Depot and purchase their chip board unfinished cabinetry and have the same results.

"Sorry customer"
Looked beautiful when they were brand new.. called something like Coffee Cherry wood. The doors are supposed sold cherry wood (?). After a couple of years fingerprints everywhere... The drawers where the drawer pulls are are full of finger nail marks. The wood is soft and should not be in a kitchen.. Wiping off finger prints all the time. Bottim cabinets.. what ever runs down them is hard to clean off... spills, etc. Not when they were new for a couple of years but now 5 years and hate them. Called the company they said they were considered them old.. this when they were 3 years old! I have lived in homes all over this country and some of the cabinets were 20 years old and looked better than mine do. We are a retired couple so no kids to blame here. Getting faded as well... So sorry I spent a small fortune for these low quality constant work cabinets..Never expected this... live and learn...

Three of my cabinets came missing the doors. When they shipped missing doors to us, Someone had used a marker to color around door. Supposed to have Been ginger with a sable glaze. Looks bad. I have pictures of this. It's sad to pay hard earned money and get this low quality product! Shame on you KraftMaid.

"Terrible Quality and Quality Control"
Kraftmaid has an awful quality and quality control problem. Unfortunately we decided to "upgrade" to KraftMaid cabinets when we ordered from Lowes. This has been a terrible experience, from late delivery by their shipper to multiple damaged cabinets (not damaged in shipping). We had to order one cabinet 3 times, and it still isn't right. We have ordered 5 sets of doors for one cabinet and they still haven't been able to get us a quality set. From stains to scratches to warped doors, none has come right. One cabinet was 1/4" out of square, but it was installed by the time we noticed. We didn't expect to need to check every cabinet for square. That's what a cabinet is after all - a square. Additionally, "All Plywood Construction" is very misleading. There is some plywood, but it varies greatly by cabinet, and most of the backs are still 1/4 cardboard.

"Quality Control Dept. Does not exist!"
Decided to order new doors for our Kraftmaid cabinets... wanted to change out the style & overlay. No big deal, right? Wrong! At least 2/3 of the doors have come damaged. Kraftmaid has been great with sending replacements, but as it keeps turning out, the replacement doors need to be replaced as well. I truthfully don't know how they are making any money by having to replace door after door after door. Months without doors on cabinets with a 2 year old is maddening! Quality Control is a joke... never again will I purchase from this company!

"Poor door build quality."
Just bought a house. When my wife and I looked at it the cabinets they where a huge selling point. We have lived here three months now and One pantry door broke completely off and the other one is starting to do the same thing the connections are terrible no glue only two little staples and 2 inches of tongue and groove. The cabinets were installed in 2015 and were not purchased by me so since I’m not the original owner they’re not covered under warranty, even if they were they don’t make the style or this color anymore so there’s nothing they could do anyway. This company obviously does not stand behind their warrantee or their product. And it is not a quality product. Stay as far away as possible. There’s no way if I was remodeling my house that I would choose this company you will be left hanging when your door start falling off

"Tested my patience and DIY skills"
I previously built a home and 20 years later totally remodeled that same kitchen courtesy of a nearby professional kitchen cabinet supplier. Thus I know what it costs in time and money to do such a job. Remodel of my current retirement home kitchen was I believed way too big a job and price to go the custom kitchen cabinet route again, so I decided I could save by using Lowe's to supply and install cabinetry and countertops and I would DIY everything else. Price seemed right after all the discounts were applied so we started the job on 27 Feb 2019. Cabinets arrived on 17 April and install started mid-May. One feature of the design was an appliance garage integrated into a complex blind corner. It arrived broken and the Lowe's installer would not put it in. I Ordered a replacement, but Kraftmaid called me and said they stopped producing that item at the end of April and would not send a replacement. Same went for operational ends on two cabinets that Kraftmaid said they would no longer make, even tho they were shown available at the time ordered...Now my design was seriously compromised and my better half was really pissed and I was regretting my decision to do the job this way. The Lowes designer, installer, and I came up with work-around solutions and was told we were 4-6 weeks away from delivery of replacement items needed to make the design look something like intended. So we waited and waited some more. Same goes for wrong door style and opening direction sent on several cabinets and also one wrong size cabinet and wrong size shelves in others. Finally got it all by end of June and installed by July 4! My gripe is with the lack of Kraftmaid order fill accuracy, delays in shipping replacement items, and inaccurate computer design information; and not with Lowe's design staff or subcontracted installers. These issues turned what should have been an enjoyable retirement project for me into a total Pain. At least the kitchen now looks good, works good, and was within my budget. Sure wish I had found these reviews beforehand and had gone with a different manufacturer....

"Took Time But Satisfied"
Finally finished our kitchen remodel. We did run into issues concerning several of the doors (the finish on the corners allowed you to see the seams) but KraftMaid replaced all of them without question. Overall, very happy. I would, however, advise KraftMaid that they should review their kiln drying process. I believe this may be the culprit on the door joints. The number of doors replaced must really hit their bottom-line. also, the majority of complaints I have read are really the result of the remodel project coming to a stop pending the arrival of replacement parts. So best to get a tight control over the QC to reduce this issue.

"Montclair maple Painted canvas with a cocoa glaze"
The cabinets were installed in April of 2015. This is December of 2018 and I have been noticing problems since a little over a year after installation. The installation was perfection from Lowe's. The problem is with the cabinets. The pain is cracking all over the place and the decorative trim is hideous and not holding up. It was beautiful right after installation. I would not recommend Kraftmaid cabinets. They just don't hold up.

"Persistant Quality Issues"
I can't express how sad I am to have to write a negative review of another professional company. I've ordered multiple kitchens from KraftMaid and won't be able to any longer. Others need to know they need to monitor quality and consistency if you order Kraftmaid cabinets. The latest kitchen has had the following issues: The quality of the woodworking and joins has resulted in a cracked door. I noticed this before installing it and they said they would ship a replacement. They did and all seemed good (errors happen and they were fast to respond). The replacement had the exact same problem (see photo). They said they would make another door and this time review it before sending it but could not estimate how long it would take to build it and review it because at each step along the way they would have to start over if it was defective (implying it is not a normal thing to review quality at each step). The client has been months without a final kitchen and they still can't tell me where the door is. On the same project, I needed a replacement 12" door. Kraftmaid made an error (again, not a big deal, we all do) and shipped us a 15" door by mistake. I called them and they apologized for the error and said they would ship me another one. Another two weeks go by and I get another 15" door. They told me they made an error again and would ship another door in a few weeks.

"Horribly Disappointed"
I paid a quality price for CrapMade cabinets. $13K of disappointment. All my savings, I will never be able to do this again. We gutted my kitchen and totally rebuilt it using Kraftmaid cabinets because I thought they were a premium quality source. Every piece that was stamped with Kraftmaid was perfect. All the other pieces (a lot of pieces) were poorly constructed and poor materials as well as damage. Damage was not made by the shippers. The boxes were undamaged. I do not know if Kraftmaid outsources their business, but they need to be aware that this is affecting Consumer Confidence. I notified Home Depot and they communicated my disappointment to Kraftmaid which never bothered to follow up with me.

"My Kraftmaid cabinets have been nothing but problems."
This Cabinet Install from lowes is going on 7 Months now. And not finish in site. The shipped half of the cabinets with out doors, and now they cant match the colors. What a POS they are. I wouldn't piss on this company if it were on fire. They cost more than custom made cabinets, so please, go buy custom made quality cabinets and be happy in the end. Or, spend just as much and be miserable.

"Nightmare experience!!"
We just opened a brand new kitchen and Bath Gallery in 2017. We brought the KraftMaid Vantage line into our gallery because we had KraftMaid cabinets installed in our home in 2007 and love them. They were a great quality and have lasted over the years so we felt this was a good line to bring into our gallery. I made the mistake of not looking at the current reviews on the web, google, Facebook etc. We ordered our first two kitchens for clients in January of this year (2019). After 4-5 weeks we received the cabinets. When we opened the orders both orders had 8-9 cabinets with chips, cracks in seams, glaze sloppily applied across doors and in one kitchen the doors were too small and therefore leaving a large gap between the doors. We immediately took the steps to re order the damaged cabinets. We finished the kitchen remodel for our first clients before the new doors even came in. Our clients had to wait 2 months for the new doors to come in because our rep told us it had to go through Quality Control to ensure the same issues did not occur. The manager also called our client and told her that they were going to reimburse us for the labor we had to pay to the contractor to go out a second time and reinstall the doors. This did not happen. Once the replacements arrived today on 5/7/2019 we received 6 that were damaged with cracks in the doors chipped paint etc. So the quality control that we waited 2 months for obviously isn't much of a quality control sounds more like KraftMaid can't deliver what they promise or advertise! So now we are left back at square one trying to figure out how to explain to our poor client that their cabinets are again damaged. I have asked to speak with our rep's manager, I have even called him twice and left messages and he has yet to return my phone call or even take the time to email us to explain how KraftMaid is going to make this right. On the second kitchen that we ordered and also had to order replacements for damaged doors and faceframes, these cabinets arrived and surprise surprise 6 of these came in damaged AGAIN and the doors that were made to small the first time were again made the same exact size leaving a gap in the middle. At this point this situation has become a never ending nightmare. We will no longer sell this line because it is obvious why they are having all of these bad review written. KraftMaid has gone down hill over the years since we first installed them in our home. They don't seem to care that these reviews are written because they keep on pumping out bad quality and can't seem to get it under control. If anyone is looking for cabinets do not invest in Kraftmaid, it is not worth the headache of trying to fight with the company because I have yet to talk with anyone who is able to fix the problem or seems to even care that the quality is coming out so poor. I have tried to attach pictures to this message of the poor quality we received but for some reason it is not allowing. If you are looking for a good quality cabinet that is semi custom and has great customer service, try Starmark and save yourself the headache!

"Disappointed"
Our $11,000 cabinet order arrived with two damaged doors which required replacement. Unfortunately the two replacement doors will also need to be replaced. One of the replacements was the wrong color, the other was chipped. In addition one of the cabinets has a cracked face frame which Kraftmaid refuses to accept responsibility for, as we did not identify damage prior to installation.
