"Can't rate brand new doesn't work"
My new wall oven didn't work right off the bat. The lights, controls, fan works but no heat. Ok I realize that sometimes stuff doesn't work that's what warranty's are for right? I made a mistake when I threw out our 30 year old oven that worked just fine except for a leaking door seal assuming that after I dropped over 2 grand on a new one that I wouldn't need it. My issue with Maytag is that they won't send a repairman for 3 Weeks! I told them that that was unacceptable to expect us to not have an oven for 3 weeks. The excuse given was that it's because "you live in a sparsely populated area". While I could agree with this if we lived in the middle of nowhere the fact is that our population is about 100,000 and there are several appliance repair shops. I find it concerning that anytime in the future that there is an issue with this appliance that we will have to do without for 3 weeks plus the time for parts to be ordered and shipped. The good folks at Maytag have my money for a defective appliance and now could care less about us having to cook over an open fire. Would I ever buy another Maytag appliance? I will go out of my way not to and would be willing to spend a lot more so that my hard earned money would benefit a company that stands behind their products!

"Disaster"
I thought buying a name brand was a good idea! I was wrong. First the right side burner wouldn't turn off. I had a repairman come fix it. He said it was a common problem. Then both burners on the right did the same thing. This repairman said there was nothing wrong with the burners. He acted like we were crazy. Now I have 4 out of 5 burners that don't work. I would not recommend this stove to anyone!

"Sleek, well made electric stove"
I bought a full set of appliances four years ago from Maytag, this stainless electric oven stove among them, and it's been completely trouble free ever since we brought it home. Never once has it given out, hiccuped or faltered on us. One really exceptional thing about this stove is how hot the top burners get; most electric stoves I've owned or seen take seemingly forever to boil water. With this, I can usually have a good sized pot of water bubbling in about 1:30 minutes. Similarly, the oven gets up to temperature quickly, and I really like how instead of just saying "preheating" it tells you exactly what temperature it is. One thing I don't like about this is that if you're cooking with the timer on, and the timer goes off, the button to turn off the timer is the same as the one to turn off the oven, so you can't stop the time and keep cooking without switching it back on. Other than that small inconvenience, it's been great, and I'd tell anyone looking for a new stove to look at this one.

"My Electric Range: Very Basic but Get's the Job Done"
I bought my Maytag range about 6 months ago, it is the first smooth top stove I have ever owned. Basically the Stove get's the job done and that is all. This is a no frills range meaning there are really no bells and whistles. It simply cooks your food. On the plus side, it has a big oven with a big window so you can really see what you are baking or broiling. Another plus is it is a smooth top range so when you're not cooking on it, it can be used as extra temporary counter space. Also, you can lock settings so the oven can't be turned on by accident by a curious kid or pet. The negative side to it, oddly, is that you cannot lock the stove top off which in my opinion is more important to lock off. The oven being on is not nearly as dangerous. The other negative thing about it is that it takes a little longer than conventional gas ranges to heat pans up on the stove top. I feel pretty neutral about this stove and would recommend this stove if someone needed extra counter space, didn't want to spend too much money and needed a big oven. Otherwise, this is a very basic stove and perhaps for a little more money, some extra features would be more appealing. All in all, it does get the job done and so far it has worked properly with 6 months of cooking everyday with no mechanical errors.
